Description

This O-ring cord is made of Buna-nitrile (also called Buna-N), round in cross-section, has a durometer of 70A, and is designed for use in a wide variety of sealing applications.Buna-nitrile can have high tensile strength, resistance to abrasion, tear, and compression set resistance. It is acceptable for temperature applications between -30 degrees F (-34 degrees C) to 250 degrees F (121 degrees C). It is compatible for use with petroleum, HFA, HFB, and HFC fluids, vegetable oil, alcohol, acids, and aliphatic hydrocarbons. Buna-nitrile is vulnerable to acetone, ethers, esters, ozone, sunlight, and weathering, and should therefore not be used in ozone-generating electric motors, welding equipment, or in applications with exposure to UV light. This O-ring cord has a shore durometer of 70A. Shore durometer is the hardness of a material, and its resistance to permanent indentation. A higher durometer value indicates greater resistance to indentation on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 indicating no indentation.

worked as exptedI used this to make necklace cords, I love it so much more then using leather. Where leather gets worn over time this outlasts and still looks just as good from the beginning. I use it alongside the Buna 0-rings to frame me focal piece and 2mm necklace end clasps to finish it off. I have customers coming back asking for just plain versions of this so they can transfer their other necklaces to as well. Works great on the neck in all types of weather without getting itchy or scratchy.I bought this O ring stock to make my O rings to fit my Gamma Seal Screw Lids. When I bought the Gamma Seal Lids the O rings lasted a few years then broke into pieces.I ordered bulk O ring stock and made my own...using Super Glue to glue them together after making it to size..This is an easy fix for these Lids and more. The Buna-n O ring stock is first class and will last many more years then the original white O ring material that came standard with the lids.I ordered this wanting a very specific material but it was difficult to discern the material from many products on Amazon. The description seemed right so I ordered it and it is exactly what I was looking for. A rubber hollow tube that compresses a bit to form a good gasket. Perfect! My 110cc ATV when removing the panel to change out the air filter the rubber O ring came apart. Found this product and tried it out. It worked out great. I will use it on my other ATV. This rubber is harder than the O ring I replaced but it has better memory and doesn't deform like the old one. At first I was worried that it may not compress enough to latch the cover down but it did. Too bad there wasn't more choices in lengths to buy.Good fit to replace the aged rubber between the tail light lens and bulb carrier on both sides of my 1986 4Runner. One size down might have been a better fit but this seems to work well. Product arrived in excellent condition and shows no signs of wear, age or mistreatment. I have quite a bit left over for odd jobs and emergency repairs.Used this to replace the rubber portion of the wheels on our garden cart. I just cut an old tire to determine the correct len,th, cut a new rubber section of this product, then used super glue to make a big o-ring. Then put them on the metal wheels.Works for what I needed but seems to be a bit smaller then 1/8.I tried both super glue (cyanoacrylate) and contact cement and both made clean solid connections. Bit tricky getting just the right size (I needed 87mm ID), enough length to try a few times. BTW, cut on an angle to get a larger mating surface area and not a sinfle point of failure. As expected, cut appropriate length and glue tends together. You can even use tire repair adhesive. Follow the adhesive instructions.tres bon produit, fonctionne comme convenue
